On the occasion of the upcoming Sharad Durga Puja and other religious festivals, government and private educational institutions in the country are going to get a long holiday. According to the annual holiday list of the Ministry of Education, educational institutions at different levels will have a holiday of 9 to 14 consecutive days.
On the occasion of Sharad Durga Puja, the holiday in educational institutions will start from September 28. It will continue till October 7, for 12 consecutive days. There are two weekly holidays in this period. Secondary and higher secondary schools in the country will fall under this holiday. However, since Friday and Saturday are holidays on September 26 and 27, students of these educational institutions will also get a holiday on these two days. In addition, since Lakshmi Puja is on October 6, teachers of schools and colleges will also get an optional holiday on this day.
Secondary and lower secondary schools
Government lower secondary and secondary schools will go on a 12-day holiday from September 28 to October 7. This holiday period will also include Durga Puja, Fateha-e-Yaz Daham, Prabarana Purnima and Sri Sri Lakshmi Puja. It is noteworthy that since the beginning of the vacation is on 26 and 27 September, the students of these institutions will enjoy a total of 14 days of uninterrupted vacation.
Primary Schools
A total of 9 days of vacation have been scheduled for government primary schools from 28 September to 6 October. However, since the first two days of the vacation are included in the weekly vacation, the students of these institutions will spend 11 consecutive days of vacation.
Colleges and TT Colleges
Government and private colleges and TT colleges are getting the most vacation. According to the latest notification of the Ministry of Education, these institutions will have vacation from 28 September to 9 October. However, these institutions will have a total of 14 days of long vacation including the weekly vacation. Teachers can also take optional vacation on the day of Lakshmi Puja on 6 October.
